Elize Swanepoel – Aspiring Mom blogger 2

Gooday everyone. My name is Elize and I’m a full-time working Mommy. Even though my salary brings in the dough every month and I’ve been doing admin and secretarial work for many years, it’s not really where my true passion lies.

In February 2018 I stumbled upon a post on the Kaboutjie Facebook post asking readers if they would like to start writing for Kaboutjie. Since I can remember I’ve always had a love for reading and writing. Both these skills are pre-requisites for blogging, so I found myself staring at this post, comtemplating whether I should give it a try or not. I didn’t have any professional training or anything, but I knew I have the drive, passion and work ethic to see it through if I was lucky enough to be chosen. I’m happy to say that I’ve completed all the necessary stages to make it through to the end where Lynne offered me a position as freelance content writer for Kaboutjie blog in July 2018. Even though I was insecure about my abilities at first, I did not let it stand in my way. I did not give up and I’ve given it my all. You see, with every job I take on, I give it 100% dedication, no matter how big or small. I don’t submit sub-standard work and I believe good communication and honesty can take you very far in life.
I’ve been writing freelance for Kaboutjie blog now for a year and Ranjacker services since October 2018.
My life is so hectic at the moment, juggling between office work, freelance writing, family life, trying to be a good wife to my hubby and raising my three-year old son. But I have to admit, I am the happiest that I’ve ever been. I’m focused and determined to make this work.
My goal is to hopefully quit my job at some point and start blogging full-time. I love engaging with people from all walks of life and I’ve got so much that I want to share with the world, especially Moms. I think Moms and women in general are superheroes in disguise. Because no matter what life throws at us, we push through it and we get shit done.

I love this platform. It’s such an honor to meet you all and to read what you’ve all accomplished so far. I’m not a perfect Mom, but I know this mama bear is doing the best she can and my son loves me. My dream is to connect with other like-minded moms through my blog and share our experiences and tips with each other.

your intro resonated with me because I essentially hope to provide the same value to my followers– share experiences and tips with each other. One day I also hope blogging will be a source of income that replaces my old corporate income! Nice connecting with you! 🙂

Welcome and thanks for sharing your story @elizeswanepoel…I look forward to learning from you! I juggle office work, two small businesses, and family. Mine consists of a thirty-something son his spouse, plus four grandchildren ages 9 – 19! Like you, I’m determined to make this work and I’m eager to learn about blogging and creating posts on various platforms. So I may be “looking over your shoulder” to get some tips!

Hi Elize! It is so nice to meet you and so happy you are here with us. Thank you for sharing your story. I don’t believe there is such a thing as a perfect parent, we all just try our best. As long as our kids and ourselves are happy that’s all that matters right? Anyway I look forward to reading your posts!

Thanks ladies! I’m sorry I’ve been a bit out of it (to put it lightly) as of late. For weeks now I’ve been ploughing through so many articles and doing my office job too. Thanks for all your great comments. You ladies really sound like my kind of people. Thanks for the kind words and I hope you all have a fantastic rest of the week and weekend!
